Don't let senioritis get the best of you. If you're looking ahead to graduation this winter, it can be easy to let your focus slip during your last semester. However, there are a few things you can do to stay on track and make the most of your last few months of college.
Give yourself a reward system
One way to stay on track is to give yourself a reward for completing tasks. This could be something as simple as taking a break after you finish an assignment or giving yourself a small treat at the end of the week. Whatever it is, make sure it's something that will motivate you to keep going.
Find the right environment to limit distractions
We all have different needs when it comes to finding a place to work. Some people need complete silence while others prefer some background noise. Find what works for you and stick with it. This could be working in the library, at a coffee shop or even in your room with headphones on.
'Chunk' your work
Trying to do everything at once can be overwhelming, so it's often helpful to break down your work into smaller chunks. For instance, if you have a paper due in a month, set smaller goals for each week leading up to the deadline. This will help you stay on track and not feel as overwhelmed.
Make time to take care of yourself
With everything going on, it's important to make time for yourself. This means taking breaks, getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods. When your body is taken care of, it will be easier to focus on your work.
